Ivory for Mastodon by Tapbots
Tapbots' Mastodon client, from the team behind Tweetbot, and the kind of timeline app that historically grows a second column the moment you give it room.
Free · 4.83 from 729 ratings · iOS 16.1 or later · updated 8 October 2026
Ivory came out of more than a decade of Tweetbot, and it shows in the parts of the listing nobody puts first. Mute filters that take regular expressions. Followed hashtags and hashtag lists. Push notifications you can tune per account, content warnings, polls, bookmarks, a statistics tab, local and federated timelines, and filters for hiding entire categories of post.
The feature that tends to win people over is duller than any of those. Your position in the timeline syncs, so Ivory on iOS, iPadOS and macOS all open at the same post. On a phone you will fold and unfold several times an hour, not losing your place stops being a nicety.
What the fold changes
Timeline clients on tablets lay out as columns rather than as one wide, awkward feed. Ivory ships a universal binary with a tablet layout already inside it, which is the strongest signal available that there is something to show unfolded. A signal is not a promise: what Tapbots does with the space is Tapbots' decision, and nobody has announced it.
That is an argument rather than a test. The iPhone Duo has been on sale since 23 October 2026 and this app has not been seen running on one.
